As we said during one of the IAF podcast about Rafale: “We would probably recommend getting out altogether of that market”. Unless the Indian acquisition process can be improved, we are still reserved as to the actual profitability of the initial contract.

Armasuisse has completed the in-flight evaluation of the three candidate aircraft selected to potentially replace the Swiss AF F-5Es. This article from Flight is interesting as it suggests that Rafale “might” be a stronger contender than initially suggested before and during the competition. Some interesting programs outlook. The most interesting being of course the C390 (major visible revisions include the tail section, cockpit windows, refueling pods and refueling probe position). Visibly now a direct competitor to C-X.

The Dew Line has posted this interesting bit of news about a poll conducted in Norway and which clearly suggests that the local taxpayers tend to favor the regional solution to replace the F-16s. The debate is likely to continue well into 2009…

Bill Sweetman provides some insight about the JSF status with the Koninklijke Luchtmacht. Seems like the Dutch are still showing some uncertainties about the F-35.
