JMSDF has today commissioned the first Hyuga class helicopter carrier. The first of the new 16DDH class, DDH-181 will be based at Yokosuka naval station, south of Tokyo.

The British press reports this morning that RAF’s Nimrods are to be withdrawn from operations overseas until the early summer to undergo safety modifications.
